After having first opened its doors on West 39th Street in 1993, the FCBID offices are planning relocate to 209 West 38th Street in Summer 2006. The Fashion Center Information Kiosk will remain in its current location on Seventh Avenue at 39th Street, but the rest of the FCBID operations will be moving one block south. The new offices will be better suited to house the FCBID’s operations and staff, which have grown over the years as services have expanded to meet district needs. Also ahead in fiscal year 2006-2007: Additional multirack newsboxes will be installed through-out the district, and the FCBID will expand and re-launch the Make A Grand Entrance Program to encourage property improvements. The popular Fashion Center Information Kiosk will again be open 5 days a week, and round the clock neighborhood and business-to-business information will be available through www.fashioncenter.com. Tools of the Trade and other business seminars will be offered again and the FCBID will publish a new business guide, entitled “Starting a Fashion Business.” Infrastructure issues will be vigorously pursued and the FCBID will remain an active voice on topics like adult use zoning and street vending that have such an impact on the quality of life in the district. Outreach services will continue to be provided on a daily basis and the FCBID will work closely with the city and various social service agencies to insure that those in need in the district are given every opportunity to get help. And most importantly in 2006–2007, Fashion District tenants and owners can expect the same high quality, seven-day-a-week sanitation and public safety services because it all starts with CLEAN and SAFE!
