Now into our second decade of service to the Fashion District community, the Fashion Center Business Improvement District (FCBID) continues to create new programs and to reach important milestones. This past year saw:
Toward that end, the FCBID has welcomed the development of a growing arts community that is establishing the Fashion District as a new creative center. An increasing number of theaters, artists, architects, galleries, crafters and creative support industries now make their homes in the Fashion District, complementing their fashion industry neighbors and helping to transform the Fashion District into a destination neighborhood. In Fall 2005, the FCBID created the first annual Fashion District Arts Festival, a major new event designed to pro-mote these new tenants. This weeklong festival encom-passed more than 120 activities and events hosted by over 100 participants and drew more than 2500 people to the Fashion District’s theaters and galleries, as well as to many events created specially for the festival. You will read more about these, and many other,
activities and accomplishments in the pages that follow. It’s
been another very active year for the FCBID, and we’ve enjoyed
working with all of you who are a part of the Fashion District community.
Together, we are making this
neighborhood one of the most competitive in Manhattan...... And remember,
it all starts with CLEAN and SAFE!
