| Pedestrian Counts 1996, 2000 & 2004 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
In prior studies, and in this report, we conducted a series of pedestrian counts along selected avenues in the Fashion Center BID area. The locations included Sixth Avenue (W. 38-W. 39 Sts.), Seventh Avenue (W.38-W.39th Sts), Eighth Avenue (W. 39th-W. 40th Sts.), and Broadway (W. 36th-W.37th Sts.). For each location, pedestrian counts were conducted throughout the day on a weekday and on Saturday in order to provide a wide range of results.
For a historical perspective, Exhibit 19 compares weekday pedestrian counts for 1996, 2000, and 2004. The comparison between 1996 and 2000 indicates that pedestrian flow increased at all locations. However, the figures reported for 2000 and 2004 illustrate total weekday volume decreased at all locations, except on Seventh Avenue where the total volume rose by 7.0%. TOP
