FCBID mounts second BID for KIDS exhibit in the lobby of 1411 Broadway.

JUNE 2000

Then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani presides over the ceremony as Geoffrey Beene, Bill Blass, Rudi Gernreich, Halston, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Claire McCardell and Norman Norell become the inaugural inductees into the Fashion Walk of Fame.

SEPTEMBER 2000

FCBID extends its successful security lighting program to Eighth Avenue, adding another 30 lights and 12,000 watts of light to the streets.

DECEMBER 2000

FCBID installs lighted holiday snowflake decorations on Avenues throughout the district. The popular addition becomes an annual holiday tradition.

NYFI Program translates its popular International Buyer’s Guide into Japanese and travels to Euopean trade shows to promote Fashion District companies.

 

Crime is down 51% since the FCBID was formed. Sanitation's record to date: 2,741 tons of litter collected. Economic Profile notes the business world's growing interest in the Fashion District.
Information Kiosk has served more than 55,000 people to date.
