Since the FCBID
launched its programming in 1994: crime has decreased 70%; our
sanitation
team has bagged 5,131 tons of litter; the Information Kiosk has
served more than 180,000 people; millions have accessed the FCBID
publications, website and touchscreen display; thousands have
attended FCBID business development seminars; and 225,000 watts
of light, 80 decorative lampposts, 7 gateway information pylons,
250 address plaques, 100 flower baskets, 300 street signs, 100 trash receptacles and the Summer Garden have all been added to
the Fashion District streetscape.
In addition, the FCBID homeless
outreach program provides assistance to those in need; infrastructure and quality
of life issues are vigorously pursued; and the shift
in Fashion District tenancy has led to a redirection of our promotional
efforts to emphasize the neighborhood’s new creative mix
of theaters, artists and arts
organizations and its increasingly
competitive retail and restaurant market.
