Homeless Outreach
In addition to working with numerous social service organizations addressing issues, which affect the district, the FCBID offers street outreach services to homeless and other affected individuals on district streets through its contract with the Partnership for the Homeless. Twice a year, the FCBID also takes part in the city’s
Homeless Counts when David Baker, of the Partnership for the Homeless, represents the FCBID and serves as team leader for the group that focuses on counting the homeless in the Fashion District.
The Partnership for the Homeless Fiscal Year 2006 – 2007 report for the FCBID, compiled in July, indicates that 140 individuals were assessed for services during the year. It is important to note that most of these individuals come into or through the district during the day but that far fewer, roughly 9 individuals, actually sleep on the streets of the district at night, as recorded during the twice yearly homeless counts.

Urban Pathways Honors the FCBID
Urban Pathways, a homeless outreach and housing program, and district tenant, honored the FCBID at its June fundraising event for all the work the BID has done to improve the district, and for the BID’s efforts on behalf of the homeless in the district.
