The International Downtown Association
held its annual con- ference at the Marriott Marquis September 14 – 19. The
FCBID served on the host committee for the four day event. In addition, the
FCBID hosted a September 18 tour of the Fashion District, which began with
a lecture by the renowned historian Andrew Dolkart, followed by tours of
the InStyle production facility and Nicole Miller showroom, and con- cluding
with lunch and a retail discussion at Lord & Taylor. In addition, the
BID produced an article for the conference journal, written by Gerald Scupp,
and secured printed collateral on BIDs and 1200 giveaway bags for con- ference
attendees. The conference was co-hosted by the Department of Small Business
Services and the BID Manager’s Association (BMA). The FCBID thanks all those
who participated in the IDA events.
Barbara B. Randall has been elected to a two year term as chair of the BID Managers Association. The Association membership includes the directors of all of New York City’s 54 BIDs.
