The International Downtown Association will hold its annual conference in New York City, September 14 – 18, 2007, at the Times Square Marriott Marquis. The FCBID is serving on the host committee and has been asked to develop a tour of the Fashion District as part of the conference. Noted Columbia University historian, Andrew Dolkart, has agreed to lead the program with a short talk about the history of the district, after which participants will visit showrooms and retailers to learn about how the market operates.

District History

Having completed research on a detailed history of the Fashion District, the FCBID is in the pro- cess of creating a history booklet that will be available to the public at the Information Kiosk this fall. The FCBID is also actively pursu- ing collaborations with various NYC museums, in the hopes that this information might also be made into a public exhibition.
